Born August 14, 1905, Lord Brecon had a very distinguished career in politics and business. Because of his accomplishments, was raised to the peerage as Baron Brecon on January 30, 1958.

Married in 1933, Lord Brecon had issue of two daughters. Therefore, due to lack of a male heir, upon the death of Lord Brecon in 1976, this barony became extinct.
